Eli Powers grabs first varsity victory with shutout win over Jackson County 

WILLIAMSBURG — EJ Allen continued his impressive season by delivering a perfect 3-3 effort at the plate to lead Whitley County past Jackson County with a 10-0 victory.
Allen had a double, an RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases while sophomore pitcher Eli Powers turned in stellar effort on the pitcher’s mound while recording his first varsity victory, limiting the Generals to only two hits while striking out four batters. 

“Good win for our team,” Whitley County coach Jeremy Shope said. “It was awesome to see Eli Powers get his first varsity win. He threw really well. I challenged our team and they responded.  We will have played five games in six days. We just want to continue getting better each day.”

Dee Parker turned in a 2-for-3 effort at the plate, driving in two runs while scoring once. Jason Nunley had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored while Spencer Bargo finished with a hit and two RBI. Ronald Osborne delivered a run-scoring hit while Kaden Powers also drove in a run.
