DISTRICT SETBACK: Quick score leads to a Pulaski County blowout; Maroons hand Whitley County, 55-13, loss 

Whitley County’s struggles against Pulaski County continued on the road Friday.

The Colonels dropped their ninth straight game to the Maroons, losing, 55-13.

Whitley County had no answer for Pulaski County’s offensive attack, falling behind 41-7 at halftime, and could t recover in the second half.

The Maroons scored right off the bat with an 88-yard kickoff return for a score, and never trailed.

By the time the end of the first quarter was over, the Colonels were behind 19-0.

Pulaski County had built a 33-0 lead before seeing Whitley County score it’s first touchdown.

Sam Haynes took a kick-off return 92 yards with 1:22 remaining to cut his team’s deficit to 33-7.

Eighty-seconds were more than enough time for the Maroons to add a score right before halftime.

Pulaski County found pay dirt right before halftime allowing the Maroons to take a 41-7 advantage into the second half. 

The Colonels’ Shane Parker opened the third quarter with a 75-yard touchdown run to make the score, 41-13, but Pulaski County added two more touchdowns in the second half to secure a 42-point win.

Whitley County will be back in action of the road Friday against Collins.
