LONDON — South Laurel’s bookended its 15-4 win over Mercer County on Thursday with five runs in the first inning, and five runs in the sixth inning.
Kenzie Williams notched another win in the pitcher’s circle, tossing a complete game seven-hitter while striking out four batters.
“Really good win for our team but we’re still trying to get better each day,” South Laurel coach Carly Mink said. “Just another great effort for Kenzie, that’s a really good line up and she was able to keep them off balance. Was great to get a lot of run support as well. We’re just focusing on getting better as team.”
South Laurel (15-4) dominated at the plate with Ryleigh Bretz going 3-for-3 with four RBI, and three runs scored. Skye Lawson was 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and one run scored while Sadie Lewis turned in a 2-for-3 effort with a home run, three RBI, and one run scored. Morgan Jackson finished with a hit, an RBI, and three runs scored while Audrey Likins had two hits, an RBI, and one run scored. Addison Baker finished with a hit, an RBI and two runs scored while Bailey Frazier had a hit, an RBI, and a run scored. Emmie Rice collected a hit in the win.
