Corbin won another meet while North Laurel turned in another stellar effort placing 16 points behind the Redhounds in Saturday’s Berea Invitational.
Tyler Harris’ Corbin Redhound squad took home another first place trophy with 60 points. South Laurel, who had three of the top five finishers, finished fourth with 173 points.
Williamsburg placed fifth (178 points) while Whitley County (188), and Jackson County (203) followed in sixth and seventh place respectively.
13th Region teams Harlan (18th, 462 points), and Knox Central (19th, 485) also participated in the 21-team event.
South Laurel’s Jacob Tapscott won the race with a personal record time of 16:59.91 while teammate Will Stanko turned in a second place finish (17:03.59). Koby Perkins led Corbin with a fourth place effort (17:46.84) while South Laurel’s Nathanael Turner placed fifth (17:54.00).
Corbin’s Ethan Slone (7th, 17:59.75), and North Laurel’s Josh Hoskins (8th, 18:02.84) each finished in the top 10, respectively.
Connor Partin was Whitley County’s top runner with an 11th place effort (18:11.62) while Alex Coleman (25th, 18:46.19) led Williamsburg.
Kenton Zander turned out to be Jackson’s County top runner (30th, 18:54.88) while Dylan Cox led the way for Harlan with a 33rd place finish (19:03.56).
Landon Howard led Clay County (43rd, 19:28.50) while Knox Central’s Trevor Smith finished 82nd with a time of 20:50.28.
Barbourville’s Jaydon Barnett placed 99th (22:09.39) while Lynn Camp’s Clayton White placed 126th (24.07.66).
