Lady Redhounds place second in Berea Invitational; Jaycee Frye leads the way with fifth place effort 

Corbin’s Jaycee Frye turned in the highest individual finish when it came to 13th Region runners, placing fifth (20:43.19) in Saturday’s Berea Invitational.

Frye was one of two Lady Redhound runners (Hadley Elmore, 8th, 20:50.78) to finish in the top 10 which allowed Corbin to place second overall with 83 points.

Jackson County’s Isabelle Shearer set a personal record with a time of 19:49.66 while finishing as the highest 13th Region runner with a second place effort.

Lexington Christian won the event with 45 points while 13th Region schools North Laurel (5th, 137), Lynn Camp (8th, 255), Williamsburg (9th, 262), Jackson County (11th, 281), Harlan (12th, 294), Knox Central (14th, 342), and Clay County (15th, 493) also participated in the event.

Abby Mabe led Lynn Camp with an 11th place effort with a time of 21:20.78 while Riley Vickers led North Laurel (14th, 21:34.59). 

Whitley County’s Sophy Jones placed 18th (21:46.47) while South Laurel’s Rose Stanko led the Lady Cardinals with a 31st place effort (22:35.91).

Knox Central’s Kaylee Mills placed 35th with a time of 22:58.88 while Harlan’s Harper Carmichael placed 36 with a time of 23:03.88.

Williamsburg’s Heaven Warren finished 50th (23:58.56) while Andrea Smith led Clay County (84th) with a time of 25:45.62.
