What a senior season it has been for Corbin’s Grace Gibson.
She capped off regular season play against Berea in front of the home crowd on Thursday by scoring five goals during the Lady Redhounds’ 9-0 victory.
We played really well tonight,” Corbin coach Hannah Goins said. “It was a good win for us. We possessed the ball well and were able to find the back of net quite a bit. Felt good to end regular season on a high note. We’ve played really well this season, looking forward to what we can accomplish post season.”
Gibson took a pass from teammate Olivia Jones and scored her team’s first goal four minutes into the contest before Jones scored her only goal of the match during the 10th minute to give Corbin a 2-0 edge.
Gibson followed with three more goals in the first half to push the Lady Redhounds’ advantage to 5-0 at halftime.
Riley Childers added a goal 10 minutes into the second half to give Corbin a 6-0 lead while Emely Colchado, Mary Simons, and Caroline Steely rounded out the scoring in the second half.
The Lady Redhounds finished regular season play with a 12-4-1 mark while posting an unbeaten 4-0 record against 13th Region teams.
