North Laurel’s Tanner Broyles recorded his 22nd assist of the season during Thursday’s 10-0 win over Letcher Central, setting the program’s season assist record during the process.
The win snapped a six-game winless streak that covered a 17-day span for North Laurel, who will enter next week’s district tournament as the No. 2 seed while garnering a 9-7-2 record.
Jackson McCowan turned in a solid game offensively by scoring three goals while Aiden Steely added two goals along with Tanner Broyles. Seniors Noel Aguilar, and Zach Crouch also scored.
“Tonight was a good night for our senior night,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “We came out strong and we’re able to put the ball in the back of the net early and often. We were able to get all three of our seniors goals tonight which was awesome for them.
“Jackson McCowan had a hat trick and Tanner Broyles was able to set the North Laurel single season assist record at 22,” he added. “Overall, it was a good night. Now we will get ourselves prepared for our game with South in the opening round of district play.”
