American Cable 13th Region Football Top 10: No changes at the top, Corbin and Bell remain No. 1 & No. 2

1. Corbin (6-0)

The Redhounds faced their toughest test yet last week and came away 38-35 winners over a Simon Kenton. Coach Tom Greer and his coaching staff have done an outstanding job preparing Corbin each week. This team has played a very tough slate.

Who’s next? Corbin will host No. 7 Knox Central in an important district matchup on Friday.

2. Bell County (5-1)

The Bobcats continue to roll behind the running of Daniel Thomas and Dawson Woolum. Bell County came away with an easy 28-7 win over Rockcastle County last week, and has now won four games in a row.

Who’s next? Bell County will travel to play Garrard County.

3. North Laurel (4-2)

The Jaguars don’t drop a spot despite losing to Southwestern, 27-13, last week. There isn’t any shame losing to the Warriors. North Laurel was in the game throughout, and just came up short.

Who’s next? Jason Chappell’s squad will now hit the road with a huge road district matchup against Pulaski County. A win over the Maroons would move the Jaguars one step closer to a home playoff game.

4. Pineville (6-0)

The Mountain Lions are off to their best start in more than 25 years after cruising past winless Jackson County last week.

Who’s next? The Mountain Lions will pay a visit to Mitchell Field and face-off against district foe Lynn Camp.

5. Harlan (5-1)

The Green Dragons make a huge leap and are now at the No. 5 spot after blowing past Phelps last week with a 50-0 win. Harlan is just a couple of points away from being unbeaten.

Who’s next? The Green Dragons will travel to play No. 8 Williamsburg in a huge district showdown,

6. Clay County (4-2)

The Tigers had a chance to get over the hump but dropped a disappointing 56-20 loss to Johnson Central.

7. Knox Central (4-2)

The Panthers escaped with a 62-61 against Bourbon County last week behind Steven Partin’s six rushing touchdowns, 316 rushing yards, and one passing touchdown.

Who’s next? Knox Central has a tough road district matchup against No. 1 Corbin on Friday.

8. Williamsburg (3-2)

The Yellow Jackets dropped their second cons cursive game but haven’t won a game in a month. They’ve hung tough in both of their losses but have failed to get over the hump.

Who’s next? The Yellow Jackets will host No. 5 Harlan. We can’t remember the last Williamsburg has went into a district game being an underdog.

9. Middlesboro (4-3)

Can the Yellow Jackets get past being shutout last week against Breathitt County? We believe so. This team is dangerous as long as Cayden Grigsby remains healthy.

Who’s next? Middlesboro will host Leslie County on Friday.

10. Harlan County (3-4)

The Black Bears looked to have turned the quote r but consecutive District blowout losses have dropped Harlan County to the No. 10 spot.

Who’s next? The Black Bears have a much-deserved bye this week.
