Grace Gibson scored five goals while Olivia Jones added two goals during Corbin’s 9-2 route of Whitley County during semifinal action of Monday’s 49th District Girls Soccer Tournament.
The Lady Redhounds are now 13-4-1 overall, and 5-0 against district opponents. Whitley County finished with a 8-10 overall, and a 2-4 record against 13th Region opponents.
Gibson scored two goals in the first half, and added three more in the second half to help Corbin pick up the win. She now has 42 goals on the season. Jones’ two goals gives her 30 on the season while Mary Simons also scored for the Lady Redhounds.
Deserae Haynes and Alba Castillo Lopez each scored a goal apiece for Whitley County.
The win advances Corbin to the 49th District Girls’ Soccer Tournament finals on Thursday.
