North Laurel did just enough to secure a spot in the 49th District Boys’ Soccer Tournament title game by edging South Laurel, 3-1, during Tuesday’s semifinal action.
The Jaguars held a slim 1-0 lead at halftime and then found themselves tied at 1-1 during the 63rd minutes before Tanner Broyles put the match away with two goals during the game’s final eight minutes.
Jaxon Jacobs gave North Laurel a 1-0 edge in the first half before South Laurel’s Liam Zik tied the match during the 63rd minute.
Broyles’ two goals came during the 72nd and 73rd minutes as the Jaguars will now switch their focus to Corbin, who they will meet in Thursday’s title game.
The Redhounds defeated Whitley County earlier on Tuesday, 9-3. North Laurel and Corbin played on Sept. 27 with the Redhounds coming away with a 5-4 victory.
