DISTRICT DOWNER: North Laurel takes one on the chin, suffers 47-13 setback to Pulaski County 

North Laurel’s hopes of hosting a first round playoff game took a huge hit Friday after the Jaguars were blown out on the road, losing to Pulaski County, 47-13.

Jason Chappell’s squad could never get anything going offensively while his defense gave up a season-high 47 points.

North Laurel is now 4-3 overall and 1-2 in district play with a home district matchup against Whitley County on Thursday.

Pulaski County got on the scoreboard first, scoring on its opening drive as Ethan Idlewine scored on a two-yard run to give the Maroons a 7-0 lead at the 9:40 mark of the first quarter.  

North Laurel continued to dig itself a hole by continuing to struggle on offense.
The Jaguars failed to find paydirt allowing Pulaski County to add on to its lead via the passing game.
Brysen Dugger’s touchdown pass to Chandler Godby increased their team’s lead to 14-0 with 5:09 left in the first quarter.
North Laurel continued to struggle slowing down Pulaski County’s offensive attack.
Dugger and Godby hooked up again with 7:17 remaining in the first half pushing the Maroons’ dominance to 21-0. 
Dugger and Godby hooked up again with 42 seconds remaining in the first half this time from 13 yards out, giving Pulaski County a 27-0 edge at halftime. 
North Laurel finally found the end zone during its opponent drive of the second half as a one-yard touchdown run by Warren cut the Jaguars’ deficit to 27-7 with 7:25 remaining in the third quarter. 

Pulaski County scored 20 unanswered points before Logan Hall’s three-yard touchdown run right before the end of the game made the final score, 47-13.
