1. Corbin (8-0)
The Redhounds are one of 11 teams that remain unbeaten in the state after handing Lincoln County a 63-0 loss on Friday. Corbin continues to hit on all cylinders.
Who’s next? The Redhounds hit the road and will face-off against district for Wayne County. A win over the Cardinals will wrapup another district crown for Corbin.
2. Bell County (6-2)
The Bobcats might have lost to Pulaski County last week but they sure did earn a lot of respect. Bell County held their own and had a chance to beat one of the best teams in Class 5A.
Who’s next? Dudley Hilton ‘s team will host Estill County (6-2) with a district title on the line.
3. North Laurel (5-3)
The Jaguars spotted Whitley County a 19-0 advantage before fighting back to win, 35-19.
North Laurel showed a lot of heart in the win and wrapped up the district’s No. 3 seed during the process.
4. Williamsburg (5-2)
The Yellow Jackets basically wrapped up another district title by dominating Pineville in a 42-0 shutout win on Friday. Williamsburg has now won 24 straight district games.
Who’s next? Jerry Herron’s squad will travel to play Lynn Camp (2-5) on Friday.
5. Clay County (5-3)
The Tigers picked up a huge 30-27 win over Perry Central last week and basically secured their respective district’s No. 3 weed with the win.
Who’s next? Clay County’s will host Magoffin County this week.
6. Middlesboro (5-3)
The Yellow Jackets will enjoy another week off before getting back on the field next Friday.
Who’s next? Middlesboro will host Pineville in what should be a pretty darn good matchup to end regular season play.
7. Harlan (6-2)
The Green Dragons recovered from their loss to Williamsburg two weeks ago and cruised past Lynn Camp.
Who’s next? Harlan faces a tough test with Pineville (7-1) paying a visit.
8. Knox Central (4-4)
The Panthers took one on the chin last week but are still a pretty good team with Steven Partin leading the way.
Who’s next? Knox Central hits the road and will play Lincoln County. A win over the Patriots would lock up their respective district’s No. 3 seed.
9. Pineville (7-1)
The Mountain Lions’ suffered a big setback during their 42-0 loss at home against Williamsburg.
Who’s next? Pineville will attempt to get back on track with a important district matchup against Harlan (6-2).
10. Harlan County (3-5)
The Black Bears suffered a 43-0 loss to Johnson Central, and now stands at 0-3 against district opponents.
Who’s next? Harlan County will travel to play Perry Central (5-3) on Friday. It’s pretty simple, the winner makes the playoffs, and the loser is sitting at home.
