On the girls hardwood, the biggest question is if the Cardinals of South Laurel will be a threat in the region this season.
South Laurel loses Rachel Presley to graduation and Clara Collins along with some other key players, so there’s a question mark with this ball team entering the season.
But getting back to my question, can South Laurel be a contender?
The answer is yes.
I believe the Lady Cardinals will remain a threat in the region and here’s the reason why.
Chris Souder’s time at South has been a successful time but many people are wondering if that’s gonna be the case In the 2022-2023 season.
South Laurel is led by Peyton “Skeeter” Mabe who now has some experience and can get it done on the offensive and defensive end of the floor. Also returning for South is Gracie Turner. The leadership of Turner on the floor is huge for the Cardinals as she is the energy, heart and soul of the team with her hustle and fight.
With that being said it might be a rocky start at first but the Cardinals will get it together under coach Souder and will once again be one of the favorites to capture the 13th Region crown.
