The North Laurel Lady Jaguars are back on top of the 49th District after defeating last season’s district champion Jackson County in four sets.
The Lady Jaguars notched their 13th Region-best 24th win in the process and will enter next week’s 13th Region Tournament at Corbin as one of the regional favorites.
North Laurel will enter next week’s tournament red-hot, winning seven of its last eight games.
The Lady Jaguars dropped the first set to the Lady Generals, 25-14, but came roaring back, winning 25-17 in the second set before rolling to a 26-24 victory in the third set.
North Laurel sealed the deal with a 25-18 win in the fourth set, capturing its fifth district crown in six years.
