SEVEN DISTRICT TITLES IN A ROW: Williamsburg captures seventh district crown in a row while extending district win streak to 25 games, and win streak over Lynn Camp to 19 games

What was once one of the best rivalries in the 13th Region has now turned into one of the most lopsided as Williamsburg captured its 19th consecutive win against Lynn Camp on Friday by defeating the Wildcats, 42-6.
The win allowed the Yellow Jackets to improve to 6-2 overall, and 3-0 against district foes. They also captured their seventh straight district championship while running their district win streak to 25 games. The last time Jerry Herron’s swiad lost a district game was way back on Oct. 9, 2015.
It took Williamsburg three minutes to march downfield to score its first touchdown of the game as Hunter Thomas punched it in from the one-yard line to give this team an 8-0 lead.
Thomas found paydirt again at the 5:09 mark of the first quarter, scoring on an 18-yard run to give the Yellow Jackets a 15-0 advantage.
A 24-yard touchdown pass from Sydney Bowen to Nate Goodin made the score, 22-0, with 2:32 left in the first quarter while Payton Tye’s nine-yard touchdown run just a minute into the second quarter lifted Williamsburg’s advantage to 29-0.
Bowen and Goodin hooked up again with 8:01 remaining in the second quarter, this time on a 43-yard touchdown pass, as the Yellow Jackets’ lead grew to 36-0.
Williamsburg’s defense got into the scoring action late in the third quarter as Tye recovered a fumble and raced 57 yards to the end zone, increasing the Yellow Jackets’ lead to 42-0.
Lynn Camp added a score late in the game but the damage had been done.
