Corbin captured the Class 2A, Region 5 championship with 40 points, placing three runners in the top 10, and five runners in the top 20.
Hadley Elmore led the Lady Redhounds with a third place effort (21.37.19) while Mary Hope Jackson finished seventh (22:32.35), and Alexandra Herren turned in a ninth place finish with a time of 22:57.33.
Harlan County finished in third place with 95 points as Peyton Lunsford finished in second place overall with a time of 21:11.07.
Knox Central’s Kaylee Mills turned in an impressive 14th place finish (23:41.11) while Milka Woodring led Bell County with a 17th place effort with a time of 24:03.62. Clay County’s Rachel Davidson finished in 42nd place with a time of 26:32.43.
East Jessamine placed second with 78 points, sandwiched in between Corbin and Harlan County, while Boyle County (127 points), Lincoln County (148), Bell County (161), Mercer County (162), McCreary Central (185), Knox Central (200), and Clay County (241) rounded out the participating teams attempting to win the team championship.
