Yellow Jackets dominate, capture another region crown while Alex Coleman wins indivisible region title

Williamsburg captured another Class A, Region 6 Boys’ championship by placing five runners in the top 10 while Yellow Jacket runner Alex Coleman won top honors individually. 

Williamsburg totaled 21 points while runner-up Jackson County finished with 52 points. Leslie County (95 points), Somerset (112), Buckhorn (118), Harlan (158), Lynn Camp (172), and Somerset Christian 173) rounded out the scoring for the eight teams that were competing for the team title.

The Yellow Jackets’ Coleman placed first with a time of 18:29.14 while Henry Bowling finished second (18:42.03). Zaden Housekeeper turned in a fifth place effort with a time of 19:03.34 while Nick Baird finished sixth with a time of 19:13.05. Robel Schwarz placed seventh with a time of 19:22.80.

Jackson County’s Keiton Anderson turned in a third place finish (18:48.25) while Harlan’s Dylan Cox turned in a fourth place effort with a time of 18:50.93. 

Jackson County’s Malachi Shannon placed in the top 10 with an eighth place finish (19:32.43).

Lynn Camp’s Jaden Stewart finished in 21 place with a time of 21:22.29 while Corey Payne finished as Barbourville’s top runner, placing 28th (21:53.66).
