Whitley County volleyball coach David Halcomb has been named 13th Region Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association Coach of the Year.
“I’m honored to have been selected for this by my peers,” Halcomb said. “However, it’s only because of our coaching staff as a whole and my players that I would even be considered for this. I’m grateful for the work everyone in our program has put into this season and blessed to even be a part of their lives. My team deserves the recognition for this award and we all have a share in it.”
Halcomb has guided the Lady Colonels to a 22-14 record so far while also leading them to a 50 District championship.
Whitley County is currently in the semifinals of the 13th Region Tournament and will play Bell County on Wednesday.
