Tom Greer’s Corbin Redhounds capped off a second consecutive 10-0 regular season mark while extending their regular season win streak to 26 games by defeating Campbell County, 42-0, at home Friday.
The Redhounds dominated on both sides of the ball once again, and has now outscored its opponents, 193-0, during their last four games.
Corbin will be back in action Friday during first round action of the Class 4A playoffs, hosting Harlan County.
On Friday, both teams’ defenses stepped up to the occasion early before Corbin finally found the end zone with 2:02 remaining. Kade Elam scored on a one-yard run to give his team a 7-0 advantage.
Corbin raced out to a 14-0 lead with 4:23 left in the first half as Elam hooked up with Zander Curry with a six-yard touchdown pass.
The Redhounds scored right before half to push their advantage to 21 points behind a one-yard run by Zander Curry.
Corbin’s dominance continues in the second half as an 85-yard kickoff return to begin the third quarter set up Brody Wells’ five-yard touchdown run while a 34-yard fumble recovery by Israel Summers increased the Redhounds’ advantage to 35-0 with 8:56 left in the third quarter.
The Redhounds lead grew to 42-0 after another touchdown pass from Elam to Wells with 7:02 remaining in the third quarter.
