CLASS 2A BOYS’ STATE XC: Corbin places third overall, Bell’s Cade Miracle turns in third place effort in individual race

The Corbin Redhound boys’ cross country team turned in a third place effort in thee KHSAA Class 2A Boys State Meet Friday in Paris while Bell County’s Cade Miracle placed third in the individual race.

Corbin finished with 226 points while state champion North Oldham totaled 79 points, and Webster County placed second with 115 points.

Bell County placed fifth overall with 231 points just one point away from fourth place finisher Highlands, who totaled 230 points.

Harlan County turned in an 11th place effort with 314 points.

Bell County’s Miracle (15:46.02) finished just eight seconds from state champion Riki Sugie (Thomas Nelson), who turned in a time of 15:38.43.

Harlan County’s Andrew Yeary finished in 17th place with a time of 17:11.57 while John Hail led Corbin with a 28th place effort (17:38.02).

Also participating were:

• Corbin’s Kaleb Terrell (37th, 17:52.36), Nolan Brock (56th, 18:15.96), Connor Messer (58th, 18:17.99), Ethan Slone (66th, 18:27.05), Christopher Rose (68th, 18:30.90), and Koby Perkins (84th, 18:46.15).

• Bell County’s Nicholas Stewart (34th, 17:48.43), Reese Arno (59th, 18:21.45), Johnathan Woodring (76th, 18:36.98), James Arno (80th, 18:39.72), Hayden Green (108th, 19:08.19), and Nathan Miracle (130th, 19:28.80).

• Harlan County’s Tanner Daniels (47th, 18:04.67), Kaden Boggs (52nd, 18:09.57), Jacob Schwenke (99th, 19:03.32), Elijah Moore (127th, 19:26.93), Austin Crain (159th, 20:02.45), and Caleb Schwenke (172nd, 20:16.58).
