ON TO THE NEXT: Redhounds record fifth straight shut out, defeat Harlan County, 55-0

Corbin captured its 80th postseason win on Friday in convincing fashion during first round action of the Class 4A playoffs.
The Redhounds (11-0) wasted little time jumping out on Harlan County (4-7) while recording a 55-0 victory.
Quarterback Kade Elam turned in another stellar effort from behind center, finishing with two rushing and two passing touchdowns while Corbin’s defense recorded its fifth consecutive shut out while outscoring it’s opponents 246-0 during the process.
Corbin’s defense got things started right out of the gate.
An interception by Zander Curry, his 13th Region-best, sixth of the season led to Corbin’s three-play, 15-yard scoring drive. Kade Elam broke free for a 15-yard touchdown run to give his team a 7-0 lead at the 9:25 mark of the first quarter.
The Redhounds scored on their second offensive possession but this time through the air.
Elam hit Carter Stewart with a screen pass, which led to Stewart finding the end zone while giving Corbin a 14-0 edge with 6:59 left in the first quarter.
Elam continued the Redhounds’ dominance at the 3:41 mark of the first quarter, connecting with Eli Pietrowski with a 19-yard touchdown pass to extend their team’s edge to 21-0.
Elam continued his team’s scoring ways late in the second quarter as his second rushing touchdown (five yards) extended Corbin’s lead to 28-0 with 5:54 remaining in the first half.
Cameron Combs got into the scoring acting act a few minutes later, his 10-yard rushing touchdown pushed the Redhounds’ lead to 36-0 with 2:49 remaining in the first half.
Cam Estep’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Parker Norvell with seven minutes remaining in the third quarter increased Corbin’s lead to 42-0.
Estep added another touchdown pass (Colton Creekmore was on the receiving end) six minutes later, giving the Redhounds a comfortable 49-0 lead with one minute remaining in the third quarter.
A four-yard touchdown run by Sam Farmer gave Corbin a 55-0 lead with five minutes left in regulation.
