Cameron Combs put on a rushing clinic, scoring four touchdowns in the first half to lead Corbin past Letcher Central, 49-0.
Combs had touchdown runs of 10, 57, 57, and 25 yards as he rushed for more than 150 yards in the first half.
The win improved Corbin to 12-0 while the Redhounds recorded their sixth straight shutout during the process — that’s right, they have now held their opponents scoreless for the past 24 quarters.
The Redhounds will now advance to Friday’s regional title game, which will be played at Campbell Field.
Corbin started the game off with a scoring drive as Combs’ 10-yard touchdown run gave the Redhounds a 7-0 lead with 9:34 left in the first quarter.
Combs added his second rushing score of the contest in the Redhounds’ second possession. He added a 57-yard touchdown run to his resume while pushing Corbin’s advantage to 14-0 with 7:14 left in the first quarter.
Zander Curry recorded an interception with 5:06 remaining in the first quarter stopped a Letcher Central drive while Kade Elam connected with Carter Stewart on a 12-yard touchdown strike to push the Redhounds’ lead to 21-0 at the 8:37 mark of the second quarter.
Combs added his third rushing touchdown of the game, a 57-yarder, at the 6:35 mark of the first half while extending the Redhounds’ lead to 28-0.
Another rushing touchdown by Combs, a 25-yarder, gave Corbin a 36-0 lead entering halftime.
Cole Stevens’ 49-yard touchdown run pushed his team’s lead to 42-0 as the Redhounds continued to put the finishing touches on their win. Cam Estep added a 33-yard touchdown run to finish the scoring for Corbin.
