13TH REGION’S FINEST: Ausmus chosen as one of region’s finest (Girls’ Player Rankings No. 25 to No. 11)

11. Aymanni Wynn, Harlan, Soph.

The future is bright for the Lady Green Dragons and one of the main reasons why is the return of Wynn.

She averaged 14.8 points, and a team-best 8.2 rebounds last season.

12. Mataya Ausmus, Bell County, Sr.

Ausmus led the Lady Bobcats with 62 made 3-pointers last season. She also averaged 11.9 points, and 2.8 rebounds per game. 

13. Kenady Ward, Jackson County, Sr.

Ward is a dominant force in the paint, and looks to be even better this season. She averaged 11.2 points, and 7.9 rebounds per game last season.

14. Chloe McKnight, North Laurel, Jr.

McKnight has the tools and skills to be a top 10 player by season’s end. She averaged 9.8 points, and 8.5 rebounds per game last season. 

15. Emily Cox, South Laurel, Sr.

Cox can hurt teams from the inside and outside while having a knack to get the rebound as well.

She averaged 8.5 points, and a team-best 5.9 rebounds per game last season. 

16. Marissa Douglass, Whitley County, Jr.

Douglass is a hard-nosed player that gets the job done. She averaged 12.6 points, and 5.0 rebounds per game last season. 

17. Skeeter Mabe, South Laurel, 8th

Mabe turned in a solid season as a seventh grader last year, averaging 7.6 points, and 2.9 rebounds per game. Look for her to be even better this season.

18. Bella Sizemore, North Laurel, Soph.

Sizemore is another player than could end up in the top 10 by season’s end. Look for her scoring to be even better this season after averaging 7.8 points per game last season. She also pulled down 3.4 rebounds per game.

19. Kylie Clem, Corbin, Jr.

After sitting out last season, Clem is ready to show just how good she is. Clem played six games last season for South Laurel, averaging 12.0 points, and 2.5 rebounds per game. 

20. Bailey Stewart, Corbin, Jr.

Stewart is another player that’s underrated. She’s versatile and can score when needed, and is tenacious on defense. She averaged 7.3 points, and 4.0 rebounds per game last season. 

21. Raegan Walker, Corbin, Soph.

Walker is looking to build off last season’s freshman campaign that saw her hit the game-winning shot against South Laurel in the 13th Region title game.

Walker averaged 5.2 points, and 4.8 rebounds last season.

22. Jaylin Smith, Harlan County, Sr.

Smith could be one of the most underrated players in the region. She ranked second on the team last season in points scored per game (10.8), and rebounds per game (5.2).

23. Raegan Jones, Knox Central, Sr.

Jones has the talent to be a top 10, and maybe even a top five player this season if she can get a bit more consistent on the offensive side of the ball.

She averaged 6.1 points, and 4.4 rebounds per game last season. 

24. Madison Curry, Jackson County, Jr.

Once Curry was ruled eligible last season after transferring from Clay County, she gave the Lady Generals another scoring option. Curry averaged 9.7 points, and 4.2 rebounds per game last season. 

25. Taylor Lunsford, Harlan County, Sr.

Lunsford came on strong last season, and turned into one of the most improved players. She averaged 6.0 points, and 7.8 rebounds per game last season.
