“Great start for our kids,” South Laurel coach Chris Souder said. “We played with lots of energy and effort. Emily Cox led us with 23 points. Kenlea Murray and Jaylen Smith also had great games. For as young as we are, I was really pleased how focused we were. We told them play hard and play together and we can get better.”
South Laurel led 27-10 at the end of the first quarter and 44-19 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Cougars, 23-17, during the second half.
