Johnson scores 21 points during Pineville’s 57-46 setback to Leslie County 

Pineville dropped its first game of the season but not before putting up a fight against Leslie County on Monday.

The Lady Mountain Lions dropped a 57-46 decision as Nadine Johnson led the way with 21 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, four steals, and zero turnovers.

Ava Arnett added nine points in the loss while Abigail Jackson finished with eight points.

The Lady Eagles’ Courtney Hopkins scored 25 points in the win while teammate Emma Napier added a 10-point scoring effort.

Leslie County took control of the game early, jumping out to an 11-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, and 29-7 advantage at halftime.

Pineville rallied in the second half, outscoring the Lady Eagles, 39-29, in the second half.
