TIGERS HOLD ON: Hayden Harris scores 26 points to help guide Clay County to a 66-60 win over Pineville 

Clay County and Pineville hooked up in a barnburner on Tuesday with the Tigers holding off the Mountain Lions for a 66-60 win.

Hayden Harris lex the Tigers with a 26-point scoring effort while Ethan Jackson scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth quarter.

The Mountain Lions were led by Sawyer Thompson’s 26-point scoring effort while Evan Biliter added 20 points.

Harris scored eight points in the first quarter to give Clay County a 17-10 lead.

The Tigers’ lead grew to 37-24 at halftime despite seeing Biliter hit two 3-pointers while Thompson added six points in the second quarter.

Pineville began chipping away at its deficit in the third quarter, outscoring Glenn Gray’s squad 18-13 as Thompson scored eight points while Kadien Robbins added five points. 

Thompson added 10 points in the fourth quarter while Biliter scored eight points hit it would t be enough.

Jackson scored six points during the final eight minutes while Harris added three points. Clay County could have put the game away early in the fourth quarter but connected on only 6-of-17 free throw attempts during the period.
