SUMMERS PUTS ON A SHOW: Tydus Summers’ 24-points, six 3-pointers effort leads Jackson County over Owsley County 

Tydus Summers’ 24-point scoring effort combined with Jude Lakes’ 20 points played key roles in Jackson County’s, 74-55, during Friday’s win over Owsley County in the PRTC Classic.

Summers hit six 3-pointers in the win, earning him Player of the Game honors.

The win improved Jackson County to 3-0, and the Generals will be back in action Saturday at 8 p.m. against Williamsburg.

Jackson County wasted little time jumping out on the Owls, as Summers scored 13 points while hitting three 3-pointers during the opening quarter to help his team take a 24-12 lead.

Andrew Gabbard added four points in the quarter while Lakes scored three points.

The Generals cooled down a bit in the second quarter, scoring only 10 points as Owsley County cut its deficit to 34-25 at halftime.

Lakes got the hot-hand in the third quarter, scoring 10 points while Summers hit two 3-pointers to push Jackson County’s lead to 56-36 entering the fourth quarter.

The Generals wrapped up the win during the final eight minutes as Summers scored five points while Gabbard, and Lakes each scored three points apiece to seal the win for Jackson County.

Gabbard added 13 points in the 19-point victory while Jameson Marcum added four points.
