Barbourville drops 62-45 season-opener to Knott Central

Barbourville’s started the season with a 62-45 setback to Knott Central during Saturday’s DJ Begley Classic.

Both teams started off slow with the Patriots holding on to a 9-8 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Knott Central took control of the contest with a 19-point second quarter, which led to a 28-21 halftime lead.

The Patriots extended their lead to 47-31 entering the fourth quarter before wrapping up the 17-point victory.

Travis Scott led the Tigers with 14 points while Ian Middleton and Matt Warren each scored nine points apiece.
