Bell County’s Daniel Thomas received the Class 3A, District 5 Player of the Year award on Saturday before the kickoff of the Class 3A state title game.
Thomas played a big role in the Bobcats’ success this season, leading the team in numerous offensive categories along with a 10-3 record, District 5 championship, and an appearance in the Class 3A, Region 3 title game.
He ran for 2,228 yards and 29 touchdowns. He completed 7-of-10 pass attempts for 101 yards, and two touchdowns. He also had 12 catches for 360 yards, and five touchdowns while scoring a total of 226 points.
Defensively, he finished with 87 tackles and five sacks. He also had two fumble recoveries.
