TEAM EFFORT: Eight players score during Harlan County’s 66-29 rout of Barbourville 

A 47-point first half effort led to an easy victory for the Harlan County Lady Black Bears on Monday.

The Lady Black Bears (3-1) had eight players score during their 66-29 win over Barbourville.

Ella Karst scored eight of her team-high 16 points during the win while Taytum Griffin finished with 14 points (all coming in the first half), and three 3-pointers.

Jaylin Smith also scored in double figures for Harlan County. She scored six of those in the first quarter while adding seven more points in the third quarter.

Kylie Jones added seven points while Paige Phillips finished with a six-point output.

Barbourville’s Sarah Smith led all scorers with 20 points while Emily Sizemore and Kayla Brock each scored three points apiece.

The Lady Black Bears led 21-10 at the end of the first quarter, and 47-18 at halftime, before outscoring the Lady Tigers, 19-11, in the second half.
