Barbourville snapped Knox Central’s 13-game win streak over the Tigers with a convincing 56-27 win over the Panthers.

Coach Chris Taylor’s squad built a 35-9 first half lead, and never looked back against their 51st District rivals.

Barbourville (1-1) turned in a stellar defensive effort, limiting the Panthers to only one point in the second quarter while scoring 15. The Tigers took a convincing, 52-16, lead going into the fourth quarter.

Matt Warren led Barbourville with 18 points while hit three 3-pointers, and finished with 14 points. Ian Middleton added 10 points while Ethan Smith had eight points. Travis Scott scored seven points while Jacob Lundy finished with two points.

Ethan Mills led the Panthers with eight points while Jaden Broughton, and Trevor Jordan scored five points apiece.
