Jackson County snapped a two-game losing skid while advancing in the 13th Region All ‘A’ Classic on Saturday by defeating Red Bird, 76-11, during a play-in game.
The Generals (4-2) jumped out to a 25-4 lead in the first quarter, and never looked back. They held the Cardinals’ scoreless in the second quarter, and led 46-4 at halftime.
Jackson County wrapped up the win in the second half by outscoring Red Bird (0-6), 30-7.
Four players scored in double figures for the Generals with Keagan Ward’s 13-point scoring effort leading the way. Tydus Summers and Braxton Clemons each scored 12 points apiece while Carter Cunagin added 10 points and Ashton Clemons finished with nine points.
Austin Johnson led Red Bird with seven points.
Jackson County will be back in action Tuesday at home at 7:30 p.m. while the Cardinals will host Middlesboro Tuesday at 6 p.m.
