Pineville sophomore Ashton Moser entered Monday’s game against Thomas Walker averaging 7.3 points per contest.
He easily matched his scoring average, and then some, during the Mountain Lions’ 62-46 win on the road.
Moser dished out a game-high 34 points while hitting two 3-pointers during the rout. He also connected on 8-of-10 shot attempts from the free-throw line.
Evan Biliter added 10 points in the win while Sam Caldwell added a nine-point scoring effort.
Pineville (2-2) led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter as Moser scored 10 points. Thomas Walker fought back in the second quarter, outscoring the Mountain Lions, 13-9, to enter halftime tied at 25 apiece.
Moser added 10 points in the third quarter while Biliter scored six points to give Pineville a 48-33 advantage. The Mountain Lions wrapped up the win by outscoring Thomas Walker, 14–13, during the final eight minutes.
