Barbourville comes from behind to pick up 74-65 road win over Clay County 

Barbourville picked up a big 13th Region road win by snapping a four-game losing skid to Clay County on Monday, defeating Glenn Gray’s squad, 74-65.

Barbourville (3-2) had lost seven of its last eight games against Clay County but never folded despite trailing, 34-29, at halftime.

Chris Taylor’s squad looked like a different team in the second half, outscoring Clay County, 24-14, in the third quarter, and 21-17, in the game’s final eight minutes.

Travis Scott was clutch again, scoring 19 points while hitting three 3-pointers. Matt Warren followed with 16 points while hitting all six free throw attempts. Ty Clark was 8-for-8 from the free-throw line while finishing with 15 points. Ethan Smith added nine points while Jake Lundy scored five points.

Ethan Jackson’s 20-point scoring effort led Clay County (2-3) while Hayden Harris added 18 points. Tate Rice, and Landon Dezarn each scored nine points apiece.
