Jackson County’s Tydus Summers comes up big again, scoring 23 points while hitting three 3-pointers to lead the Generals past Berea on Tuesday, 79-45.
The win improved Jackson County to 4-1 while extending its win streak to two games.
The Pirates surprised the Generals in the first quarter by jumping out to a 20-18 lead.
It was all Jackson County after that.
The Generals outscored Berea, 61-25, the remainder of the game.
Keagan Ward added 16 points in the win while Jude Lakes followed with 14 points. Teammate Carter Cunnagin also scored in double figures, finishing with 11 points.
Jackson County outscored the Pirates, 21-4, in the second quarter as Summers hit a 3-pointer while scoring nine points. The Generals put the game away by outscoring Berea, 18-10, in the third quarter as Lakes scored five points.
Jackson County will be back in action on Thursday in a key 49th District matchup at home against struggling Clay County. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
