Oneida Baptist got back on the winning track with a 68-63 win over Lee County during Saturday’s Big Lou Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
The Mountaineers (3-4) had four players score in double figures with Canaan Tyree finishing with a game-high 22 points, and eight assists. Teammate Daniel Etokwudo finished with a double, double (10 points, and 11 rebounds) while seventh graders Jacob Rogers, and Skyler Roberts combined to nail five 3-pointers while handling the ball great under pressure, according to Oneida Baptist coach Mitchell Madden.
“We played a very disciplined game with a lot heart,” he said. “We are young but we try and compete hard each time out.”
The Mountaineers will be back in action Monday on the road with a 49th District battle against Jackson County on the slate.
