Harris comes up big during Clay County’s 83-39 win over Leslie County in the Bobby Keith Classic

The Tigers ran roughshod over the Leslie County Eagles in the Bobby Keith Classic, winning to the tune of an 83-39 drubbing. Hayden Harris led all scorers with a strong 23-point night, while Landon Dezarn and Aiden Wagers scored 11 apiece to round out of the double digit scoring for Clay County.

The Tigers jumped ahead to an early 14-8 lead and simply did not look back. Leslie County fought hard until midway thru the 2nd quarter, when the Tigers simply exploded on offense. Clay County carried a 44-17 lead into the halftime mark. Dezarnscored all 11 of his points in that 2nd quarter explosion.

Ethan Jackson did not start due to illness but stepped in off the bench and performed well for the Tigers, scoring eight points while grabbing some big rebounds. Connor Gilbert added eight points, Tate Rice added six points, Landon Smith with five, Evan Harris with five, Landon Howard with three, and Isaiah Bundy with two. It’s safe to say that numerous Tigers were involved tonight, and they shared the ball very well.

Clay County moved to 4-3 on the year with the victory, and now look ahead to their Christmas Tournaments in Pulaski County in which they lead off with facing Cumberland County.
