A slow start led to Josh Mobley’s Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats’ fourth loss during their past five games on Tuesday, losing to homestanding Adair County, 62-52.
Despite scoring a season-best 52 points, but the lack of rebounding in the second half played a big role in Lynn Camp falling to 2-6.
“We rebounded very well in the first half and had many opportunities to get second shot attempts on offense,” Mobley said. “We took care of the ball much better in this contest than others. At times, we moved the ball and got open looks out of our sets well.
“Our hustle and effort for 50/50 balls was good at times,” he added. “Our transition defense out of the press struggled a lot in the second half. Also, they flipped the story on rebounding in the second half and hurt us on the glass a lot with second chance points.”
The Wildcats fell behind 11-6 at the end of the first quarter, and 28-19 at halftime, before turning things up a notch on offense in the second half.
Lynn Camp was outscored, 34-33, in the game’s final 16 minutes but the Lady Wildcats did manage to hit eight field goals, including three 3-pointers.
Abby Mabe led Lynn Camp with 16 points with nine of those coming in the second half. Bella Blevins followed with 11 points, and three 3-pointers while Alissa Crumpler added nine points.
