Harlan kept its perfect record intact on Tuesday after upending Ashland Blazer, 80-63, during first round action of the Pikeville Invitational.
The Green Dragons (8-0) connected on 32-of-58 shot attempts while hitting 50 percent from 3-point range (10-of-20). They have now scored at least 80 points in consecutive games.
Harlan outrebounded the Tomcats, 37-25, while finishing with 15 assists, five steals, and three blocks.
Kyler McLendon finished with 31 points, two rebounds, two assists, and one block while game MVP Jaedyn Gist totaled 22 points on 11-of-16 shooting. He also added nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Kaleb McLendon added 17 points with eight rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot, and one steal. Will Austin totaled eight points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals while Dylan Cox two points, two rebounds, two assists, and one block shot.
The Green Dragons trailed, 25-18, at the end of the first quarter before outscoring Ashland, 62-38, the remainder of the game.
