Pineville reeled off its fourth straight win behind a 40-point scoring effort from Ashton Moser.
Moser went 7-of-10 from 3-point range, and grabbed seven rebounds as the Mountain Lions defeated East Ridge in overtime, 82-74.
“Extremely proud of our team for staying together and finding a way to win a tough game,” Pineville coach Brady Levy said. “East Ridge is a very good program who will be right there in the 15th Region at the end of the year. We talk to our kids all the time about being mentally and physically tough. Our kids take pride in things not coming easy for us and having to go out and take what we want. They have been playing with a chip on their shoulders.
“Ashton Moser played a heck of a game tonight,” he added. “He got hot and hit some big shots and was aggressive attacking the basket. Sawyer Thompson was steady and played a solid floor game. Sam Caldwell played strong inside with a double double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Evan Biliter only scored 2 points but had as good a game as he’s had here. He had 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 assists.”
Sawyer Thompson added 20 points in the win while Sam Caldwell finished with 18 points.
