Jackson County dropped a 59-56 heartbreaker to Prestonsburg during first round action of the Chain Rock Classic on Wednesday.
The Generals (8-5) held a slim 30-27 lead at halftime before getting outscored, 14-9, in the third quarter to fall behind, 41-39, entering the fourth quarter.
Jackson County hung tough the remainder of the game but couldn’t pick up the win as the Blackcats outscored the Generals, 18-17, in the final eight minutes.
Jude Lakes lex Jackson County with 19 points while Tydus Summers hit three 3-pointers, and finished with 16 points. Keagan Ward followed with an eight-point scoring effort.
