OBI rallies but comes up short during 74-59 loss to East Carter

Oneida Baptist continues to show improvement despite falling to East Carter on Wednesday during the Railroad Classic.

The Mountaineers fought back from a 26-point deficit, and only trailed by seven with three minutes remaining before falling to East Carter, 74-59.

Canaan Tyree led the Mountaineers with 26 points, and seven rebounds while Daniel Etokwudo turned in a double-double with a 10-point, 15-rebound effort.

“Played very hard against a really good physical team,” Oneida Baptist coach Mitchell Madden said. “I’m very proud of my team playing shorthanded but they don’t quit. I see us growing each time out and that’s the game plan.”

Madden was also pleased with the effort of Skyler Roberts, and Andre Collett, who stepped up today with Jacob Rogers out due to sickness.
