Generals’ Lakes, and Summers score 18 points apiece during win over Cumberland Gap, Tenn. 

Four players scored in double figures as Jackson County evened its record at 1-1 during its stay in the Chain Rock Classic by defeating Claiborne, Tenn. on Thursday, 74-65.

The Generals (9-5) led throughout the game but had to weather a late rally by Claiborne, Tenn. to pull out the win.

Jude Lakes, and Tydus Summers both turned in 18-point scoring efforts with Summers finishing with four 3-pointers. Carter Cunagin added 17 points while teammate Keagan Ward finished with 11 points. 

Led by Summers’ two 3-pointers, and eight points in the first quarter, Jackson County built a 21-19 lead entering the second quarter.

Cunagin’s Sox points followed by Summers’ five points allowed the Generals to build a 45-35 cushion at halftime.

Cumberland Gap outscored Jackson County, 18-13, in the third quarter to cut its deficit to 58-53, but the Generals’ Lakes scored seven points in the fourth quarter, allowing Jackson County to pull out the win.
