Kicker of the Year

Jacob Baker, Corbin

Baker finished the 2022 campaign with eight field goals, & 72 extra points, finishing with 98 total points which ranked second overall for Corbin. He also had four interceptions, and 99 tackles.

2. L4 Security 13th Region Media Network

Defensive Back of the Year

Will Austin, Harlan

Austin led the Green Dragons with 15 catches, 289 receiving yards, and five touchdowns. He also had a punt return for a score, and a kickoff return for a score.

Defensively, Austin finished with 45 tackles, and two sacks along with six interceptions, and a fumble recovery he took back for a score.

Linebacker of the Year

Austin Johnson, North Laurel 

Johnson had another breakout season for the Jaguars, leading the state for the second year in a row with 24 sacks. He had 98 tackles with 11 of those going for a loss. He also finished with 1 forced fumble.

4. L4 Security 13th Region Media Network

Defensive Lineman of the Year

Alex Gamble, Williamsburg

Gamble dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Finished with 27 tackles, and one sack.

Offensive Lineman of the Year

Franklin West, Corbin no

West was a big reason the Redhounds were so successful on offense. He made sure the ground game had plenty of holes to run through, and also protected quarterback Kade Elam.

Receiver of the Year

Tyson Wagers, Clay County

Wagers had 889 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns. He led the team in scoring with 104 total points. On defense, he had 38 tackles, and 1 interception which was returned for a touchdown.

Running back of the Year

Daniel Thomas, Bell County

Thomas ran for 2228 yards and 29 TDs. He also threw for 101 yards, and 2 touchdowns while hauling in 12 receptions for 360 yards, and five touchdowns. He led the team in scoring with 226 points. On defense, he had 87 tackles, 5 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.

8. L4 Security 13th Region Media Network

Quarterback of the Year

Kade Elam, Corbin 

Elam passed for 2455 yards and threw 33 touchdown passes. He also ran for 520 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. Elam had 84 total points which ranked third for Corbin.

Defensive Player of the Year 

Austin Johnson, North Laurel

Johnson had another breakout season for the Jaguars, leading the state for the second year in a row with 24 sacks. He had 98 tackles with 11 of those going for a loss. He also finished with 1 forced fumble.

10. L4 Security 13th Region Media Network

Offensive Player of the Year

Steven Partin, Knox Central

Partin did it all this season for Knox Central. He passed for 927 yards and 11 TDs, ran for 1782 yards, and 26 TDs, caught 10 passes for 168 yards and 2 TDs, and led the Panthers with 185 total points. He finished with 71 tackles.

11. L4 Security 13th Region Media Network

Coach of the Year

Tom Greer, Corbin

Greer guided the Redhounds to a perfect 10-0 regular season mark, and 14-1 record overall. Corbin won the Class 4A, District 7 title, and the Class 4A, Region 4 crown. The Redhounds also finished state runner-up in Class 4A.

Corbin High School

The Redhounds posted perfect 10-0 regular season mark, and 14-1 record overall. Corbin won the Class 4A, District 7 title, and the Class 4A, Region 4 crown. The Redhounds also finished state runner-up in Class 4A.
