Sophomore Halle Collins took matters in her own hands, and played a huge role in Knox Central’s 64-46 win over Owsley County.
The Lady Panthers entered the game needing a win after dropping three of their last four contests, and Collins made sure her team would get back to its winning ways after scoring 38 points while finishing with 14 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists.
She scored 13 points in the first quarter, and never slowed down, adding six more points in the second quarter, eight points in the third quarter, and 11 points in the fourth quarter.
Knox Central held a slim, 33-31, lead at halftime, and 48-44 edge entering the fourth quarter before outscoring Owsley County, 16-2, during the final eight minutes.
Timberly Frederick added 12 points while hitting four 3-pointers. Hannah Melton added four points, and 10 assists.
