The cold temperature outside matched both Pineville’s and Harlan’s shooting efforts during Tuesday’s matchup between the two 13th Region teams.
The Lady Mountain Lions (11-5) were able to overcome a 17-of-56 shooting effort as they defeated Harlan, 44-27.
Pineville (6-9) only mustered three points in the first quarter while trailing, 6-3, before outscoring the Lady Green Dragons, 41-21, the remainder of the game.
Harlan managed 17 field goals in the game with four of those coming from 3-point range.
The Lady Mountains Lions led 19-17 at halftime, and 36-25, at the end of the third quarter before outscoring the Lady Green Dragons, 8-2, in the final eight minutes.
Ava Arnett led Pineville with three 3-pointers, and 13 points. She also had four rebounds, and three steals. Nadine Johnson scored 12 points while finishing with 10 rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Abby Jackson scored all eight of her points in the second half while collecting five assists, and four rebounds. Malley Smith followed with a seven-point scoring effort.
Kylie Noe led Harlan with 12 points while Peighton Jones followed with five points, and Aymanni Wynn scored four points.
