Gracie Jo put on a show.
And that just might be an understatement.
Bell County’s Gracie Jo Wilder turned in a record breaking effort during Friday’s quarterfinal action of the Kentucky 2A State Tournament.
Wilder turned in a tournament record 34-point scoring effort while tying the tournament record of nine steals. She also recorded nine rebounds as well, leading Bell County past Taylor County with a 62-55 overtime win.
The game was close throughout with the Lady Bobcats leading 14-11 at the end of the first quarter, and 27-21 at halftime.
The Lady Cardinals began chipping away at their deficit in the second half, trailing, 39-37 entering the fourth quarter before sending the game into overtime at 50 apiece.
That’s when Wilder took over, scoring five points while Mataya Ausmus added four of her 13 points to allow Bell County to pull out the seven-point victory.
Wilder scored nine points in both of the first and second quarters before adding eight points in the third quarter, and four points in the fourth quarter.
Lauren McGeorge also scored in double figures for Bell County, finishing with 10 points.
The Lady Bobcats also set a team record, finishing with 22 steals during the game.
