Lady Bobcats’ Kentucky 2A State Tournament run comes to an end during semifinal action despite Wilder’s 25-point scoring effort

Bell County’s run in the Kentucky 2A Tournament came to an end during Saturday’s semifinal round falling to Rowan County in a hard fought matchup, 54-44.

The Lady Bobcats led throughout the game before being outscored, 18-6, in the fourth quarter.

Bell County led 18-15 at the end of the first quarter, and 29-23 at halftime before Rowan County cut its deficit to 38-36 entering the fourth quarter.

David Teague’s squad shot 15-of-38 from the floor, including going 6-of-15 from 3-point range. The Lady Bobcats hit 8-of-12 free throw attempts while forcing 11 turnovers. Bell County turned the ball over 20 times, and was outrebounded, 36-29.

Gracie Jo Wilder capped off an impressive tournament with a 25-point, three-rebound, two-blocked shots, and three-steal effort. Wilder also hit four 3-pointers. Mataya Ausmus finished with 10 points, and four assists.
