Bell County’s Gracie Jo Wilder turned in a 39-point scoring effort to help guide the Lady Bobcats to a 67-56 win over Harlan County.
Wilder had the hot-hand from the beginning, scoring 13 points in the first quarter, allowing Bell County to take a 25-8 lead.
She added 14 points in the second quarter, as the Lady Bobcats’ (14-4 overall, 2-0 vs. 52nd District opponents) lead grew to 41-21 at halftime.
Ella Karst led a Harlan County (13-5, 2-2) comeback attempt in the second half by finishing with 30 points hit the damage had been done.
Karst knocked down five 3-pointers in the loss while Jaylin Smith added 16 points.
Matay Ausmus hit two 3-pointers, and scored eight points while Lauren McGeorge, and Kairi Lamb each scored seven points apiece.
