Kenady Ward records double-double during Jackson County’s 71-39 rout of Clay County 

Led by Kenady Ward’s 20-point, 12-rebounds effort, Jackson County cruised to an easy, 71-39, win on the road against rival Clay County.

The game was never in doubt with the Lady Generals (16-4 overall, 3-1 vs. 49th District opponents) led 23-7 at the end of the first quarter, and 44-16 at halftime.

Abby Gilbert followed with 16 points, nine rebounds, and five assists while Kylee Shannon scored 11 points, and pulled down seven rebounds. Maddie Curry hit three 3-pointers, and finished with 11 points while Madison Marcum finished with 10 points.

The loss dropped the Lady Tigers to 7-13 overall, and 2-4 against 49th District opponents.

Mackenzie Sizemore led Clay County with 12 points while Lauren Sizemore added 11 points. Sidney Jones scored seven points.
